Do you say or think any of these comments about writing your non-fiction book?
“I’m not sure my peers and audience will want my book.”
“I don’t expect great sales or to be a bestseller.”
“It’s not like I’m ever going to be on a top TV show.”
“If only the local paper interviews me I’ll be happy.”
“I just hope to make back my printing costs.”
As a book coach, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard emerging authors say these words. Perhaps you recognize yourself in them.

Do you want to write an Ebook? Or maybe a print book? I’ve done several interviews and radio shows and everyone has asked me the same question. What the toughest part of writing your book? My roll my eyeballs response was, “My ignorance!”
How I wish I had had Judy Cullins’ book, Write Your Ebook or Other Short Book – Fast! before I had started to write my book, Photo Adventures in Cuba ~ Unlock Your Power of Positivity. I would have shaved off 6 months of blood, sweat and tears. Her email support alone was worth its weight in gold!
Don’t need to struggle the way I did! My advice? Know before you go!”

I remember the 1980′s, I taught college writing and speedreading and was sick of the bureaucracy. So many rules. One office staff member of one college called me “The Xerox Abuser.” Another gave me bad high-traffic times for my courses when she missed my email. Often, deans would call me in because my students just wanted to answer the questions at the back of the chapters. Too creative to fit the mold. They were right!

In any endeavor, when we plan for its success we increase our odds of success. If you haven’t realized the book success you wanted last year, here’s a way to reap the harvest with 86% improvement!
I don’t believe in NY resolutions–partly because they are poorly defined wishes, unwritten and fuzzy dreams and contain unrealistic expectations. I do believe in planning for results I want. When we plan we increase our odds of success.
Now, check out the power of your mind to create your year just as you want.
When you see, hear, and feel your book project already manifested through specific outcomes, you’ll be in the 86% success group. It’s far easier to perceive specific outcomes as true when visualizing them as already done. Claim your dream as true now in specific outcomes.

So many people at Linkedin and other forums have asked me to explain how I coach. And some of you will take to this information and some not.
Maybe you run the other way when you think of investing in some professional coaching. Your budget is low. I did too over 11 years ago, until I came to the internet, and realized it’s a long haul to learn all this good stuff that makes book sales, get your readers as your fans, and continue to build your business to make you happy, and profitable. So many don’t invest in mentoring help–and so be it. When you don’t invest, it just makes the journey so much longer, more expensive, and harder.
Many a client has told me that the sessions cost less than the yield in book sales or business profits.

We resist paying for coaching services to get our book chapters juicy so that our readers are motivated to keep turning the pages. We do it mostly on our own, because we don’t know what we don’t know. We also may resist getting some coaching on marketing our book or business.
I know, I love getting free good information online at article directories, and now even better information on blogs, and in social media forums (groups where discussions are lively) where my primary audience hangs out. But, that’s just step one.
What you may not realize is that when your audience is motivated by your hand-holding and hooks, they will finish your book, they will become your 24/7 sales team, and tell everyone they know about it. Nothing like great word of mouth marketing.
