Judy Cullins’ Book and Business Story that Can Be Yours
In the early ’90’s, I dreamed about writing a book. During the 10 years I taught an ongoing seminar on “How to Write a Book” at an adult school in La Mesa, California, I struggled with my first book called “Passion at Any Age.” I edited it so much, it took almost 10 years. I got sick of it and quit.
Instead, I turned to write my now signature book, “Write your eBook or Other Short Book Fast.” A book that I was more passionate about at the time and still am. From that seminar, I built a book coaching business around this book’s information.
Birth of My First Book
After reading Dan Poynter and John Kremer, I knew the book I needed to read, so I wrote my first short book(99 pp) to help non-fiction writers put their chapters together to hook their readers, and know the 9 Essential Hot Selling Points BEFORE they wrote their book. Take a look at Write your eBook or Other Short Book Fast!
Pre-Marketing Hot Selling Points
That means knowing your preferred audience, your book’s benefits, its branded chapter titles and much more. I call these “The Essential Hot Selling Points.” Self-published as an eBook, I offer it at my site, and my printed version from working with a publisher is at Amazon. Standing the test of 6 years, it still sells well. And you too can have my success, even more, when you plan enough before you write. With these tips your book practically writes itself.
Getting the Word Out–My Promotion Platform for Book Selling and Book Coaching
1. I wrote and submitted over 300 how to articles on writing, publishing and marketing to top directories.
2. I put up my Web site bookcoaching.com, and developed it as a business and total resource site for authors to be. I revised it 4 times and now, it’s really a profitable venture. Through giving a lot of free content to my unique, targeted visitors, it continues to bring me clients who I want to work with–who are ready to brand themselves and make great book sales and are willing to learn pre-marketing how to’s and create a promotional platform BEFORE they publish.
3. I joined Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin. After some success with Twitter and Facebook, I concentrated on building my brand at Linkedin. This last action brings much more traffic to my site.
4. I wrote a blog to help my audience with their challenges.
This and Linkedin and FB really work to bring more to my site.
I update it weekly.
Over the Years One Must Keep Growing
When I first discovered social media, I went crazy and got 2700 followers–anyone who wanted me. As time went on, I let go of so much tweeting if it didn’t pay off. I turned to Linkedin and my new blog to offer fresh almost daily information–just to my target audiences-business people, book people.
That meant writing new books and giving new teleseminars.
These are on my Web site under the category “books and package” and “coaching and seminars.”

My Motto
Write a short book first before the end all-be all novel or other long book that traditional publishing touts. Today, most audiences want to read for information. They don’t have much time to read and want their questions answered with short and sweet copy, without all the long stories.
Now It’s Your Turn
Now, I help other authors write and promote their short books. How about you? Are you ready to jump-start your branding yourself and your business, make more money and enjoy all the success that comes with being a recognized expert? Are you ready to implement some of your promotion platform and need some help?
If your answer is yes, then I encourage you to subscribe to this blog by clicking on one of the links at the top right of this page.

To your writing success,
