You may already know I’m The Original Book Coach. I’ve been a teacher ever since I got my Masters Degree in Reading and Curriculum.
Before that, I was an athlete and taught athletics.
I played tennis two-three hours a day. When offered a chance to go pro tennis, I turned it down because I wanted a life filled with fun, close relationships and meaningful work. And tennis was an all day, all life consuming activity. During and after college, I was a part-time school playground director for six years teaching basketball, volleyball and track to support my husband getting his teaching degree. In my first teaching job in Idaho, I taught reading and writing. I also taught P.E. because I had the skills (but I was lousy at bowling).
My Post Athlete Time
Personal Growth led me to find my life’s purpose. I also affirmed, “I let go of all that doesn’t serve me.” (can you guess who I let go of?)
This makes me wonder what past events affect how well my students and clients do to actually FINISH their writing and book projects. It’s a must to be at peace and think positively to finish a long project.
Here’s What a Few Past Clients Did…
One. Even though John Jamieson already had a publisher for his book, he came to me as an expert in his boating how to’s.
He decided I was the one he needed to transform his OK information into compelling copy.
“Judy helped me get my book through the tough editors at International Marine/McGraw- Hill. How? By showing me how to hook the reader from the first page and not let go! Thanks Judy for showing me how to make good content turn out great!”
Two. Christos Kartalis, corporate top manager, chose me as his book coach.
Why? Because I’m compassionate with new writers who are dedicated to get their important message out, and perhaps change the world to the better. A traveling European corporate man, Christos always brought a positive mindset. He committed himself to always show up at the book coaching phone session with his homework complete (the homework I taught him with step-by-step instruction). We’d brainstorm and finish each part (could be a chapter or just part of a chapter) on the coaching call. That’s why I call it, “The One Edit Chapter Writing Blueprint.” (depending on a client’s homework, it could be two edits)
I’d say Christos brought a good work ethic and had passion. Plus, he practiced his High Level Activities to keep his motivation up and do the work I required.
“You know, the Greeks didn’t write obituaries. They only asked one question after a man died: ‘Did he have passion?'”
Christos Kartalis had passion!
“Judy Cullins coached a first time writer taking me from A to Z to book writing and publishing. She taught me how to identify the right audience, how to emphasize the right points right, how to keep my audience captive. She is a person full of energy, experience and passion. She devotes herself to your success. Thank you Judy!”
The Manager’s Cockpit
Three. John Spencer, President to his Freeman & Son Fire Restoration company.
John came to me because he was disappointed in his last book coach who did not have a step-by-step system like I offer.
“I worked with a different book coach before. It was a painstaking process. I had many edits and inputs on my writing. I wrote countless hours, but felt like I was getting nowhere. There was no real direction. I didn’t finish that project. What a pity to invest tons of work with no accomplishment.
Judy I’m so grateful to have found you. What a godsend to work within a system that produces results. Your how to reports combined with your coaching have me finishing my book. Yahoo! I realize having the book is only half the equation. Coaching me on marketing is helping me accomplish the other half. Delivering the additional business I wrote the book for.”
Fire Insurance Claim Secrets
Four. Jeanne Rust, PhD., Mirasol Treatment Centers.
“Judy Cullins, veteran book coach, has guided me to not only write a short eBook to market (brand) my business of coaching young women with eating disorders, but to write an online marketing plan that includes a marketing funnel from a free ebook to get dedicated subscribers, to three low cost specific books for my specific audiences, and to my online treatment program to “save” this “introvert” audience’s lives and one they will readily buy so they can stay private.
Judy knows book marketing too. Together, we set a plan to build my online presence & my actions all year. I’ve become a household name and can create a much higher income/wealth program. Besides the book writing, Judy helped me set up a blog writing and blog marketing strategy. She knows the way and can shortcut an author/business person’s road to success. I finally have learned a system that I can use for a short or longer book. I’m so glad I’m working with Judy.”
